ISO 9001:2015
There is going to be a new revision to the ISO 9001 standard.
All ISO standards are reviewed every five years. The revised standard will respond to the latest trends and be compatible with other management systems such as ISO 14001.
There is a 6 stage process to update a standard and the ISO 9001:2015 is in the DIS (draft international standard) phase which is the fourth of the six stage process. The final stage is expected around December 2015.
If you are registered to ISO 9001:2008 you will have a 3 year grace period to upgrade your registration to the 2015 revision.
There is a new numbering system for the standard and some changes to terminology. You will also have to implement risk management into you quality management system.
